Prashanth Dalawai is an automotive, aerospace, and robotics engineer. He has 30 years of experience in a wide spectrum of the field of technology, business management & strategic partnership for product design/development, and product life cycle management (PLM) and teaching. He graduated from Karnatak University with a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, then received an M.Tech. and a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in the Mechanics and Design stream. He worked for Indian and multinational OEMs as well as consulting the OEM industries on global automotive, aerospace, defense, aviation, and energy, mainly on their engines and vehicles. He taught undergraduates of both mechanical and aerospace engineering, as well as master's students in computer science, at a few of the oldest institutes in India. He served diverse roles in engineering and management, that includes project, design, simulation, calculation, and validation as engineer, manager-R&D, consultant, coach-field failures, research scholar, teaching assistant, associate professor, and a founding head.
The journey with pioneers in a variety of vehicles and machinery, and multiple disciplines at both theory and a practice has motivated the IIAS to address the real-world challenges of the systems and vehicles.
